Sascha Taylor Larsen is a Norwegian-Jamaican-Canadian filmmaker who is drawn to stories about the absurdity of human nature and the strange spaces we search for belonging.
Since graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, he has worked as Director’s Assistant on productions for Marvel, Skydance and Castle Rock Entertainment in Atlanta, New Orleans, and Calgary. He is currently running development for director Kari Skogland. Through his work he has been involved in the development of films and TV series for companies such as Apple, Paramount, Legendary, Atlas, Anonymous Content, Appian Way, Potboiler, and Escape Artists.
As an editor, he has worked on pitches for Disney’s Falcon and Winter Soldier and Apple’s upcoming Firebug series. He has also edited commercial branded work for Bloomingdales, Mastercard, and Pond’s, and his short film Mountain People won best editing at Firenze Film Festival and Oslo Film Festival. As a commercial director he has worked for clients like the Central Bank of Norway, the Arctic saunas Salt and Vulkana and the automotive company Møller Medvind.
As a narrative director, he has received grants from the National Board of Review and the Lancer Film Foundation. His latest music video Donnie Dix – for which he wrote the song and directed the video - won at New York Shorts International Film Festival. His projects have earned accolades for Best Film, Editing, Cinematography, and Original Score at Oscar-qualifying festivals in New York, London, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Scandinavia.
Between projects, he is an avid traveler, photographer, and runner, restless in spirit and constantly seeking new experiences.
